IS THIS GENERATION ON THE BRINK OF EXTINCTION?

Updated: Feb 27

"A generation that did not prepare its heart and whose spirit was not faithful to God" (Psalm 78:8)

Prepare this Generation, Do Not Let the Phones & Electronic Devices Own Them

In December 2025, I took a trip to England. There was a young couple seating behind me. Upon arriving at the Hathaway airport, as we were exiting the airplane, the young woman began to cry, “I do not know what has happened to you! I no longer know who you are! You heart is never with me! The phone owns you!” Those words broke my heart and it is the sad Truth in these last days we are living in!

In February 2026 I was again on a 2hrs 30 minute flight. Seating next to me was a mother and her son who appeared to be about 10 years old. During the whole time we sat together, the mother was on the phone watching a show, not once did she have a conversation with her son nor pay attention to him. The son was well behaved, even though he had electronic devices, he used them for a short moment and then he sat back longing for mom’s fellowship, leaning on mom's side, seeking his attention but he was not getting any! By the time we landed, the mother had not conversed nor paid attention to his son. I looked and I asked myself where humanity is heading if things continue like this!

Where there is no conversation, relationships die!

We are in the age where people are communicating and spending more time on the screen than they are talking to human beings. People are spending time with strangers, virtual friends more than real people. If things continue like this, humanity will be heading to catastrophes, even towards civilization extinction.

That the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born,

That they may arise and tell them to their children, That they should put their confidence in God And not forget the works of God, But keep His commandments,

And not be like their fathers, A stubborn and rebellious generation,

A generation that did not prepare its heart and whose spirit was not faithful to God.” (Psalm 78:6-8)

There have been numerous instances throughout history where civilizations have collapsed, declined, or become extinct, according to the Bible due to divine judgments leading to the destruction of societies. Even secular perspective tells us of civilization collapse due to environmental factors, warfare, disease, or societal issues. Below are some examples from the Bible.

The Bible recounts several events where entire civilizations or cities were destroyed, often as acts of divine judgment for wickedness, serving as examples of moral and spiritual consequences. These are presented not just as historical events but as lessons in righteousness.

  • Noah and the Great Flood: According to Genesis 6-8, God sent a worldwide flood to destroy the corrupt pre-flood civilization, sparing only righteous Noah and his family. This event is depicted as wiping out all human society at the time due to pervasive violence and evil.

Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great upon the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was altogether evil all the time. And the LORD regretted that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. So the LORD said, “I will blot out man, whom I have created, from the face of the earth—every man and beast and crawling creature and bird of the air—for I am grieved that I have made them. (Genesis 6:5-7)

and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly (2 Peter 2:5)

  • Sodom and Gomorrah: In Genesis 18-19, these cities of the plain were obliterated by fire and brimstone from heaven because of their extreme immorality. The destruction was total, leaving the area desolate and serving as a warning against sin. Only Lot and his 2 daughters survived this judgment.

(2 Peter 2:6-10)

  • Canaanite Cities (e.g., Jericho and Others): In the books of Joshua and Deuteronomy, God commanded the Israelites to conquer and destroy Canaanite cities, such as Jericho, where everything was devoted to destruction as judgment for idolatry and corruption. This led to the extinction of those local societies

Prepare this Generation, Do Not Let the Phones & Electronic Devices Own Them

  • Do not give phones to the children, once they start bowing to it, it becomes their idol

  • Do not let the phone own you. Establish t strict boundaries

  • Staying on the phone too long make you sick and often people do not even realize it

  • When the cellphone is not in use, it should be kept in Airplane mode

  • When you go to bed, keep your phone shut or in airplane mode. It is safety for you. It is health for you.

More than eve before, let us pray for this generation and let us prepare this generation for the coming of the Lord. Let us mentor them. Let us have them baptized in the Holy Spirit and Fire! Let us pray for them and train them in righteousness. The end is near!
