Being a Christian vs Being a Born Again Christian – Part 2

Updated: Jan 18, 2023

When you are born again, you start a new life. The old will disappear and only the new things will remain. "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come." 2 Corinthians 5:17

After giving your life to Jesus, as much as you can, you must go back to where you listened to the Word of God that changed your life. When you hear or read the Word, you must take action upon the Word, only then will your soul and spirit transform.

If you do not take action after hearing the Word of God, you won't change, you won't experience transformation. The more you hear the Word of God and not obey it, the harder your heart becomes. When a potter makes a vessel of clay, as long as it is not hardened, he can spoil it in his hand and remake it into whatever form he desires. If the vessel is hardened, it is hard to remake it, in some ways, the only possible way to remake it is by breaking it and melting it in the fire. This is why after the knowledge of Truth, we must obey the Truth. When you see people who have a hard time changing, that only indicates that the old things are still there; when the old things are still there, people cannot walk in the new.

In the month of March 2022, pastor Coleman will be offering courses to help those who want to overcome the old nature and walk in the new. Please visit Blazing Holy Fire University to learn more and to register.

To live as a believer is to always renew your mind by reading the Word daily and to take action upon the Word - it means to obey the Word of God and to keep obeying the Word of God. Read the Word. Listen to the Word from the Bible, listen to the Word being preached, renew your mind every day and put it in action.

Achieve complete transformation. Do not rush through nor skip the necessary steps. In our example of butterfly transforming, at each stage, it is necessary for the butterfly to stay and spend the period of times required as an egg, as a caterpillar, as a chrysalis; however long it takes for the process to be complete, do it, be patient. It is a process, not everything will be accomplished in one day or one month. It is a process, work at it day by day, for example be faithful doing your morning devotions, your daily prayers, being constant at it. It is a process, have fun along the way!

As long as we are in this body and on this earth, there is nothing such as I have arrived. We must keep transforming, from glory to glory. We cannot stop in the middle, we must keep going, we must keep transforming "until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ." Ephesians 4:13
